127th Annual Conference
Dear IFA Members and Illinois Firefighters
As we near our 15th year of working with the Illinois Fire Service Institute, I am reminded how popular the hands-on
training has been. Each year we try to offer new and dynamic classes and this year is no exception. Yes, we have
some of the enduring classes like Foundations of Firefighting and Coordinated Fire Attack, which continue to be
This year we add Introduction to Radiological/Nuclear WMD Operations and Basic RIT Awareness. We continue to
offer four-hour classes at the hotel like Reading Smoke, Building Construction, and Firefighter Rehab.
The biggest change this year is that all registrations will be handled by IFSI. This way they will be able to assure
that we have the correct student to instructor ratio for the classes – for safe and effective training. Once registrations
meet the class maximum, additional registrations will not be accepted for those classes. There will be no walk-in
registration for hands-on classes.
We welcome back CHS Foundation and TransCanada Corporation who are providing support for the conference and
training. Through their generosity, we are able to bring you this training at the same low price as last year.
The registration form can be found by visiting our web site at www.Illinoisfirefighters.org for a copy to download. We
look forward to seeing you in October.
